Overview

IntelliTools has released Windows 2000, XP, vista and Windows 7 compatible version of many of its software programs. IntelliTools will not however be producing NT 4.0 compatible versions of its products. IntelliTools expects that most customers currently using NT 4.0 will be moving to Windows 2000, as directed by Microsoft (see Microsoft’s upgrade paths information). IntelliTools is therefore utilising its development resources to produce Windows 2000 compatible versions.

IntelliKeys USB is the Solution for Windows 2000 and higher!

IntelliTools products running under Windows 2000 or higher will not be able to send overlays to older IntelliKeys hardware. Customers using computers with Windows 2000 or later operating systems wishing to send overlays will require an IntelliKeys USB.

Important Note: IntelliKeys users who upgrade to Windows 2000 or later will lose the ability to send overlays unless and until they acquire a new IntelliKeys USB keyboard.

IntelliTools Software Windows 2000 and Windows XP Compatibility

The following IntelliTools products are Windows 2000 and XP compatible.

• IntelliMathics version 1.0 (released 4/2001)
• IntelliTalk II version 1.1.3 (released 6/2001)
• MathPad version 1.05 ( released 8/2001)
• IntelliTools Reading: Balanced Literacy and Writing Resources CD version 1.01 (released 9/2001)
• MathPad Plus Fractions and Decimals version 1.02 (released 9/2001)
• Number Concepts 1
• Number Concepts 2

Note: All Windows 2000 and XP compatible versions are backwards compatible for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, and Windows ME

Note: At this stage, while ClickIt! for Windows is compatible with Windows 2000, is not compatible with Windows XP and there are no immediate plans by IntelliTools to make it so.

IntelliTools Software Upgrade Solutions for Windows 2000

1. Situation 1:

   Requirements:

   1. Your IntelliTools software was purchased before Windows 2000 compatible versions were released…
   2. And your IntelliTools software was working on a Windows 95 or Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE computer…
   3. And your IntelliTools software was not re-installed after installing the Upgrade version of Windows 2000.

   Solution:

   • Windows 2000 updater for IntelliTalk II is available for download from Updaters for the Windows Products at the IntelliTools website
   • Number Concepts 1 and Animals Habitats requires that the Win2000 Fix is installed from the IntelliTools website.
   • We expect all other IntelliTools software to continue to perform fine, presuming all above requirements were satisfied.

2. Situation 2:

   Requirements:

   1. Your IntelliTools software was purchased before Windows 2000 compatible versions were released…
   2. And your computer came with Windows 2000 factory installed or your computer required a full install version of Windows 2000…

   Solution:

   • Do not install your IntelliTools software older versions.
     
   • If your IntelliTools software was re-installed, uninstall these older versions through the Add/Remove Programs control panel.
