Quantity Purchase discounts offer economical ways to give more users access to Boardmaker for Mac
When buying the Boardmaker software as a quantity purchase, the software is supplied in complete sets with all manuals and supporting materials. No administration is required.
The discounted pricing applies to multiple copies purchased at the one time, on the one invoice and to be shipped to the one address. Once a volume purchase order is placed, it is not possible to “add on” additional copies at the discounted volume pricing at a later date.
It was previously possible to purchase Boardmaker as a site licence for multiple computers. However, as of January 2001, site licences are no longer available for Boardmaker for Windows or for Macintosh. Boardmaker for Macintosh Version 6 requires that the Boardmaker CD be in the drive for the program to run. For this reason, quantity purchases are the only multiple user option now available for purchase of Boardmaker.
One advantage of requiring that the Boardmaker CD be in the CD-ROM drive for the program to run, is that you are now able to install your single user copies of Boardmaker on several computers if you need to do so. For example, you could install it on the school computer and on your home computer if you were needing to prepare resources out of hours. The program cannot be used unless the CD is in the drive, so this effectively ensures that it is only being used on one computer at any one time.
No network installation version of this program is available at this stage.
