Students listen to real speech (recorded by a native speaker) and then record themselves speaking the same words and phrases. By listening carefully to their own pronunciation and comparing it to that of the model, children identify their mistakes and correct them independently.

The Spanish Stories CD encourages children to extend and develop their language learning in the context of well-known traditional tales – they become language detectives as they decipher the familiar stories in their new language. An abundance of follow up activities extend and consolidate the new vocabulary and structures.

Develop comprehension through stories children know and love
Children use their knowledge of these familiar story plots to help them as they read the story in their new language. The text is supported by beautifully illustrated, clear pictures to aid understanding. The story is read by a native Spanish speaker, offering an excellent model of pronunciation and intonation, and the text is highlighted as it is read to enable children to track the text visually.
Activities build knowledge and confidence of Spanish vocabulary and sentence structure
Each tale is accompanied by 15 related activities, divided into the following categories for ease of use:
- Character Activities – Introduce characters from the stories
- Word Activities – Introduce nouns from the story
