School Rules! Volume 2 teaches social interpretation skills during unstructured times where social rules are most challenging. This CD-ROM uses video scenarios such as
- getting lunch
- waiting in line
- eating in the school cafeteria
- talking to friends
- or “just hanging out”
to demonstrate social awareness.
Each situation offers an opportunity for the student to build friendship and relationship skills and increase his or her social awareness. This volume also addresses time management, organisational skills and the use of schedules at school.
Unlike passive videos, this software gives students the opportunity to see social situations re-enacted by peers and then choose the best thing to say or do next. In this fun, familiar, but safe environment, students can become increasingly aware of social expectations and more successfully interact with other students. Customised lesson plans for use by teachers and parents feature specific video scenarios based on individual needs.
