Onscreen keyboard with the power of "Telepathic" word prediction (in multiple languages) built in!

You can point and click with Tracker Pro and Magic Cursor or a switch, but how do you type? The answer: ScreenDoors 2000 – the leading onscreen keyboard software for Windows.

Instead of pushing keys on a real keyboard, simply point and click on a picture of a keyboard on your computer screen. ScreenDoors 2000 acts just like the real keyboard typing directly into any application. A list of predicted words actually guesses what you are typing to help speed entry.

How does it work?

Clicking can be performed a number of different ways. You can select a key by clicking on it using the mouse or a physical switch. You can also select by “dwelling” or simply pausing over a key to make your selection. A visual cue is used to indicate the dwell time, by “filling” up the key. Once the fill reaches the top of the key, a click is automatically performed.

International language keyboard support and the localisation of menus and dialogues for German, Danish, Italian and French truly makes this onscreen keyboard a world-wide solution.

This industry-leading software was licensed by Microsoft and forms the basis for the Microsoft Onscreen Keyboard included in every copy of Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista.

Disabilities Addressed

ScreenDoors 2000 is for people using a headpointer like Tracker Pro or a mouse alternative like WISP, a trackball, game joystick or touch window. It is ideally suited for individuals with Quadriplegia, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Motor Neurone Disease, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and any other disability where the user has little or no control of their hands to use a standard keyboard.

Features and Benefits

  • Full Keyboard Emulation
Floats above any window and emulates the physical keyboard in nearly every way possible.
  • Internationalised Keyboard
Any language supported by Windows is automatically supported by ScreenDoors. Change the language on your computer, and the ScreenDoors automatically changes with you.
  • Localisation
ScreenDoors 2000 has foreign language support in the menus and dialogues for French, German, Danish and Italian. It will automatically read your regional settings and change the user interface accordingly.
  • Self-Learning Word Predictor
Type faster by selecting words that automatically learn from your writing patterns. As you type, a seperate window displays possible words that you are typing. The more that you use the software, the better the prediction becomes as it learns your style of speech. It will also do “next word” prediction.

  • Resizable
Fit the keyboard to any size you like on your screen – big, small, or in-between.
  • Key-Size Selectable
Handy for creating spaces between keys to prevent accidental keystrokes.
  • Number of Keys Selectable
Use the full 101 keyboard, or a smaller one similar to what a laptop has to maximise your screen space.

  • Automatically Follows System Colour Scheme
The keyboard will look and feel like the rest of your system (you can also customise if you wish). This is great for people with vision impairments using “high contrast” colour scheme.

  • Dwell Selection
You don’t have to click a switch to type – just dwell over the key. It “fills” to the top then clicks.

  • Multiple Layouts
Type faster with alphabetical and frequency layouts (as well as the standard QWERTY).
