Communication is key

The Tobii S32 is a communication device that plays pre-recorded messages, activated simply by touch.

The Tobii S32 is available in two models, Touch and Scan. The S32 Touch is for people who have no problem using their hands to touch the symbols and pictures. The S32 Scan is a switch/scan model, made for people who can’t use their hands effectively but instead use switches to navigate to their choice of picture or symbol.

The Tobii S32 can also be used to control the user’s environments such as lights, small appliances, adapted toys, televisions, VCRs, or DVDs.

And every S32 includes a copy of Tobii SymbolMate so that overlays can be made and printed from your computer.

Built for an active lifestyle

With both models weighing in at less than 900 grams, they are easy to carry anywhere.

With a durable chassis and impact absorbing rubber side covers, the Tobii S32 reliably withstands active daily use. The rubber side covers not only protect the device but also allow you to personalise it; included in the S32 package are four differently coloured side covers (black, red, blue and lime-green.)

The carrying strap allows the S32 to be carried or worn in different ways, making it instantly ready for use.

Cleaning can easily be done with a damp cloth. This makes it ideal for use in a hospital environment or in a school, for example, where there could be multiple users.

Never run out of words

The S32 can store up to 192 cards at the same time and has a 2 GB SD card that holds over 60 hours of high quality sound. With such a large recording capacity, you can store words and phrases, funny moments, stories, personal information, communication books or even entire music CDs.

The built in bar code reader keeps track of all the 192 different levels and page sets, allowing you to focus on communication.

Great sound that people will hear

The durable speaker produces crisp, clear, high resonance sound, allowing your voice to be heard over a variety of background noises, such as outside on the playground or in many other similarly noisy environments.

You can listen to auditory prompts, through the headphones, before a message or sound is played back aloud to make sure that the message is correct.

Works great with Tobii SymbolMate

Tobii S32 works seamlessly with the included Tobii SymbolMate, an application for creating, editing, managing, and printing page sets.

• Create, edit, manage and print communication pages for the S32
• Centrally manage settings and contents on one or more S32s, perfect for class room environments
• Record sounds and speech on a PC and transfer audio via USB to the Tobii S32
• The Function Queuing feature, when activated, allows you to queue up key presses so that they play sequentially, without you having to press the second or third key again after the first key’s recording has finished
• The Key Clustering feature makes it easy to create visual scenes, grouping keys together in clusters or even on opposite sides of the keypad
• The unique Combination Keys feature allows for a single key to play multiple sounds depending on the sequence of key presses. Use Combination Keys to express, for example, the same word with different intonations or even in different languages.

Play alone, or together

Through IR (infrared), the Tobii S32 allows you to control both standard and battery operated toys with IR interfaces. Additionally, in the S32 Scan, there are two Toy Interface Ports that enable you to emulate two separate switches to activate toys that have a “toy interface” with custom activation modes:

• press to activate
• activate while hold
• or timed activation or on/off

Built in ECU

The Tobii S32’s built in IR can also be used as an environmental control unit (ECU) to control lights, small appliances, televisions, VCRs, or DVDs.
